Insurance Coverage for W-2 Employees
All W-2 employees who are payrolled through OOTB Solutions are covered by the following insurances.
OOTB can provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for any of the following insurance policies upon a client’s request. Please email your Account Manager or admin@ootbsolutions.com to submit a COI request.
Workers’ Compensation
OOTB provides a top-rated workers’ compensation policy to protect our clients and their teams.
Employees can access prompt, free-of-cost medical treatment for injuries or illnesses incurred while employed through OOTB’s payroll services.
Up to $1,000,000 of coverage for medical care, temporary disability benefits, permanent disability benefits, supplemental job displacement benefits, return-to-work supplements, and death benefits.
Coverage is only provided for employees who are paid W-2 wages by OOTB. Coverage is not provided for personnel paid as independent contractors.
There is no deductible or self-insured retention charge for workers’ compensation insurance.
The cost of workers’ compensation is included in OOTB’s fee structure for payroll services covering W-2 personnel.
Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI)
OOTB provides a $1,000,000 Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) policy.
EPLI covers many (but not all) employment-related claims, including, but not limited to, discrimination, sexual harassment, and wrongful termination. Coverage details are subject to policy terms and exclusions.
Coverage is only provided for employees who are paid W-2 wages by OOTB. Coverage is not provided for personnel paid as independent contractors.
General Liability and Auto Liability Insurance
OOTB provides a $2,000,000 per incident / $4,000,000 annual aggregate limit policy for General Liability and Auto Liability insurance.
General liability insurance covers general claims such as property damage and personal injury resulting from operations related to the services of OOTB.
Auto Liability insurance covers liability for accidents and injuries related to vehicle operations, including vehicles that are not owned by OOTB personnel but are used for business purposes. This coverage applies to liability only and does not cover physical damage.
The premium and deductibles for general liability and auto liability insurance are included in the OOTB fee structure for all paid personnel.
Disability, Paid Family Leave, & Unemployment Insurance Benefits
Eligible employees may apply for state-sponsored benefits, including State Disability Insurance (SDI), Paid Family Leave (PFL), and Unemployment insurance (UI), as administered by the California Employment Development Department (EDD).
Only personnel who are paid W-2 wages are eligible to apply for these benefits.
OOTB facilitates the process for employees who wish to use these benefits and responds as the employer of record to the claims received from state agencies.
